A notorious fraudster who dupes people through the use of fake bank alerts has been nabbed.

According to a report by The Nation, the Katsina State Police Command on Thursday announced the arrest of notorious fraudster, Musa Isah, aged 30yrs who specializes in duping unsuspecting traders through fake bank SMS alert in katsinaA statement from the spokesman of the command, Superintendent Gambo Isah, said the arrest was successfully made at Kwado Quarters, Katsina, based on a tip off.

He said “a notorious fraudster who specializes in duping unsuspecting traders by sending them fake bank SMS alerts after collecting their goods. Nemesis caught up with the suspect when he went to the shop of one Alhaji Adamu Rabi’u, at Kwado Quarters, Katsina, deceived him and collected three (3) Chinese doors valued N57,000:00k and paid him through a fake bank SMS alert.’’

‘’In the course, investigation suspect confessed to having duped and collected goods worth thousands of Naira from the following businesses: collected a Generator from Abbas Plaza Katsina valued N120,000:00k through fake Bank SMS alert, also tricked Al-Ihsan Great Infinity Boutique where he deceived and collected clothes valued N21,000:00k using the same modus operandi’’.

‘’ he went to the shop of one Alhaji Alin Kwai, at Chake market, Kofar Guga Katsina, deceived and collected bags of rice, cooking oil and Macaroni valued N65,000 by sending fake bank SMS alert. Investigation is ongoing’’.

In a related development, the Police also announced the arrest of notorious Indian hemp dealer and recovery of two bags of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp based on a tip off, Police Patrol Team led by DPO Dandume succeeded in accosting one Auwalu Abdullahi, aged 25yrs of Maraban Maigora village, Sabuwa LGA of Katsina state.

Also a notorious Indian hemp dealer, in possession of two -50kg bags containing dried leaves reasonably suspected to be Indian hemp while on transit along Dandume – Funtua road was arrested and in the course of investigation, the suspect confessed to being a dealer of Indian hemp operating at Dandume and Sabuwa LGAs of Katsina state.
