Man Utd fans bemoan Romelu Lukaku sale as Inter star nets two against Sassuolo
Manchester United fans are watching Romelu Lukaku tearing it up in Italy at present
The Belgian notched a brace away at Sassuolo this afternoon as he continues his fine form under Antonio Conte at Inter Milan. The Nerazzurri won 4-3, with Lukaku opting against taking a second penalty which would have given him a hat-trick on the day.
United, meanwhile, are struggling to find the net at present following the club’s decision not to replace the outgoing star in the summer.
It’s a pity OGS got rid of him for a milk tooth striker that can’t even hit a bundle let alone a stick,” said another.
“Lukaku’s 5th league goal in 8 games. Rashford’s best ever league season is 10 goals…” a fourth added.
“Rashbeck would take 2 months to get level with Lukaku’s goals today,” said one.
Lukaku was mocked during his time at United for his first touch, which was at times below par in the eyes of fans.
Former strike partner Zlatan Ibrahimovic this week revealed he and the ex-United striker nearly made a bet when it came to improving that aspect of his game.
“At Manchester United, we made a bet – ‘I’ll give you £50 for every decent first touch you make,'” the Swede said.
“He replied: ‘What do I win if I get them all right?’
“I told him nothing, he would simply become a better player. For the record, he never accepted the bet! Perhaps he was afraid of losing.
“Joking aside, Lukaku has this mad hunger to prove himself to the world and I’m sure he will do well at Inter too.”
