Kevin Hart Speaks Out For First Time Since His Car Crash (Video)

The actor and comedian posted an emotional video to his Instagram page, thanking fans for their love and support, as well as updating them on his recovery progress.

In the clip, the 40-year-old can be seen wearing a harness and undergoing physical therapy. His family also appear in the post, including his his wife Eniko and their kids.Speaking about how the tragic incident has affected him, Hart says: “After my accident I see things differently, I see life from a whole new perspective.

“My appreciation for life is through the roof. I’m thankful for my family, my friends.”

Hart also had some heartfelt wisdom for anyone watching the clip, adding: “Don’t take today for granted, because tomorrow’s not promised. More importantly, I’m thankful for God, I’m thankful for life. I’m thankful for simply still being here.”

Commenting on the post, Eniko thanked fans for their kind words and support, writing: “Your true fans were concerned, praying & missing you deeply. thank you ALL for your kind words and allowing us to heal during this time.”

While BFF and co-star Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson left a message of support for his pal, commenting: “Beautifully said. Love u brotha. Onward.”

Hart suffered ‘major back injuries’ in the incident, which took place in West Valley at around 12.45am on 1 September.

He had been riding as a passenger in one of his cars – a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda – when it crashed from Cold Canyon Road onto Mulholland Highway.

After hearing the news, many of Hart’s famous friends posted online to show their support, with Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor Terry Crews tweeting: “Get well soon, brother.”

Bryan Cranston also took to Instagram sharing a picture of him and Hart with the caption: “I’ve just heard that @kevinhart4real was injured today in a car accident in Los Angeles. Let’s all send him positive energy and healing thoughts. He’s a good human. Get well soon, brother.”

Confirming the incident, a press release from the California Highway Patrol said driver Jared S. Black had ‘immediately lost control’ of the vehicle, which ‘left the road and rolled over down the northern embankment’.

The CHS also said Black was ‘determined not to be under the influence of alcohol’.

Hart and Black were taken to nearby hospitals, while another passenger, Rebecca Broxterman, suffered ‘only complaint of pain’.

The press release explained: “Two of the three occupants were trapped in the vehicle. The remaining occupant and owner of the vehicle, Kevin Hart, left the scene to his nearby residence to get medical attention.

“The driver was located in the driver’s seat of the vehicle and determined not to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision.

“Hart and Black sustained major back injuries as a result of this collision and were transported and treated at nearby hospitals (Northridge – Hart, UCLA Westwood – Black).”
