EPL: Relentless Liverpool force Spurs into submission to re-establish lead

Liverpool stay top of the Premier League, now six points clear of Manchester City. They’re up against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday before returning to league action against Aston Villa on the weekend. As for Spurs, their Merseyside adventure continues next Sunday against Everton. They’re now 11th, already eight points off the top four.

A Salah penalty ensures Liverpool make it 12 Anfield wins in a row and re-extend their lead at the top of the table to six points with a 2-1 victory over Spurs. Kane put the visitors ahead in the first minute, but this only angered Liverpool and they embarked on a thoroughly dominant performance that saw Gazzaniga make numerous vital saves to keep Spurs in the game. But a Rose error allowed Henderson to equalise before Mane won a penalty that Salah converted to seal the win.
