Carabao Cup: Manchester City, Everton qualify for quarter-final
Sergio Aguero marked his 350th Manchester City game with two goals, as they defeated Southampton 3-1, to reach the Carabao Cup quarter-finals on Tuesday night.
Nicolas Otamendi headed the current holders in front in the 20th minute, before Aguero struck in either half to seal victory.
Jack Stephens’ grabbed a late consolation goal for the Saints, who they will face again in the Premier League this weekend.
In other fixtures, Everton beat Watford 2-0, Leicester City won 3-1 at Burton Albion and Colchester United saw off Crawley Town 3-1.
The rest of the quarter-finalists will be decided on Wednesday, when Liverpool host Arsenal and Chelsea clash with Manchester United.
