Guinea now need to beat Burundi on Sunday and hope for other results to go their way – in other groups as well as this one – to qualify for the last 16.
Madagascar have the opportunity to move three points above Guinea tomorrow when they face Burundi.
The last time Nigeria were in the Africa Cup of Nations and didn’t win it was in 2010.
Since then they have failed to qualify for three, and won the other in 2013.
Nigeria are the first team to book their place in the knockout stages.
Nigeria make it two wins from two to reach the last 16.
