Van Persie apologizes to Arsenal fans over Man Utd move
Robin van Persie has apologized to Arsenal supporters, over his move to Manchester United in 2012.
The Dutch striker went on to win the Premier League the following season, finishing as the top goalscorer in the league.Van Persie’s departure left a bitter tastes at the Emirates, that still resides in some quarters today.
But he has taken the first step in an attempt to make amends.
Van Persie told BBC Sport: “I get that the fans were angry with me.
“I was the captain, top scorer and we came third that year. But just sometimes you feel you need a challenge, a new adventure.
“If I hurt people, I’m sorry. But that’s me. I made that decision and I stand by it. But that doesn’t mean that I look in a negative way towards Arsenal.”
