Argentina magician, Lionel Messi, shook off injury concern to inspire Barcelona to a two-nil win over city rival, Espanyol, during their domestic league clash at the Camp Nou today.

The five-time Ballon Dor winner both goals either side of the halves. His main moment of magic came when he bent in an unusual freekick in the 22nd minute.

The Paneka technique which he used in bending the ball in is only common with penalties and not freekicks. He has now become the first player in history to achieve such feat.
