#NigeriaDecides2019: Atiku leads in 17 states
The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is reportedly in a clear lead across 17 States in the presidential election conducted on Saturday.
This is coming following the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC’s Local Government Areas collation’s announcements by the Returning Officers.
These states include Benue, Taraba, Plateau, Ondo, Enugu, Edo, Imo, Anambra, Ebonyi, Abia, Cross Rivers, Akwa Ibom, FCT, Adamawa, Bayelsa and Rivers.
From the demographics, it shows Atiku Abubakar has claimed almost every State in the South East and South-South while also eating deep into the States in the South West where the All Progressives Congress, APC, polled more votes in 2015.
The PDP which lost with 200,000 votes in Oyo in 2015, is presently battling it out with the APC in the state.
However, INEC suspended collation of results yesterday.
INEC Chairman, Yakubu Mahmood made the announcement yesterday night adding that activities will re-open by 11:00AM at the International Conference Centre, ICC, Abuja.
According to him, “The INEC National Collation Center has adjourned results proceedings to resume 11am on Monday.
“Collation of results has been postponed till tomorrow 25th February. To open by 11:00AM at the International Conference Centre
