Empire star, Jussie Smollett has been released from jail.
According to the Voice of America,VOA, Smollett was granted bail at $100,000 after he appeared in court in Chicago, Illinois on Thursday
The actor was also asked to surrender his passport as part of his bail conditions and pay 10% of his total bail in order to be released from custody
Smollet is facing a felony charge for falsely filing a police report where he claimed two Nigerian men attacked and hurled homophobic words at him in Chicago.
However, his attorneys, Todd Pugh and Victor Henderson, in a statement, said the actor remains innocent until proven guilty.
