Four Dead, Eight Injured In Stampede After APC Presidential Rally In Rivers

Four persons have died after President Muhammadu Buhari’s rally at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt on Tuesday.
Four persons were lying dead at the main gate of the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt after the presidential campaign rally of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State on Tuesday.

It was learnt that the victims were trampled upon following a stampede at the stadium.

Those that appeared to be breathing were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention by available ambulances.

President Muhammadu Buhari had taken his re-election campaign on the platform of the APC to Rivers State, south-south Nigeria.

Massive APC crowd had thronged the stadium to catch a glimpse of Buhari as he seeks re-election on Saturday.

In attendance at the rally is the National Chairman of the party Adams Oshiomhole, Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, Tonye Cole, Senator Godswill Akpabio, among other party members.
