JUST IN: INEC extends till Monday, deadline for collection of PVC
Ahead of the February 16th general election, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has extended till Monday, February 11, 2019. the deadline for the collection of Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs.
The commission’s Chairman, Mahmoud Yakubu, gave the announcement of the extension during a meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners, REC.
The decision, according to him, was taken after the REC officers gave situation reports about how many PVCs were yet to be collected by voters.
Recall that several persons have earlier on, called for the extension of the deadline for the collection of the PVCs.
Among those who called for the extension are the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams and many others.
