The indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB, has accused the governor of Abia, Okezie Ikpeazu and the governor of the state of Ebonyi, David Umahi, of using their positions to facilitate the kidnapping, arrest, torture and execution of IPOB family members by the Nigerian army and the DSS.

They said this while reacting to speculation that the group had made a u-turn on the boycott of Nigerian elections by asking its members to participate in the governorship elections of Abia and Ebonyi state to ensure that the governor of the state of Abia, Okezie Ikpeazu and Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State never return to the office.

In a press release signed by IPOB spokesman Emma Powerful, the group said that Governor Ikpeazu and Umahi led Operation Python Dance to the southeast and south-south, which they say is an unforgivable atrocity against the land and God in heaven.

Speaking about her proposed plan to boycott the elections in Nigeria, Emma Powerful said that IPOB has not made any changes to her plan to boycott the presidential elections in February, but that they will ensure that Okezie Ikpeazu and David Umahi never return to office.

“We shall boycott the forthcoming presidential elections and every other with the notable exception of Abia and Ebonyi where the incumbents, Okezie Ikpeazu and Dave Umahi are using their positions to facilitate the kidnapping, arrest, torture and execution of our people. This recent misconception by some individuals who intend to have Umahi and Ikpeazu return to office, will never deter us because they don’t exist in the real world. They only inhabit the realm of gossip.”

“David Umahi and Okezie Ikpeazu must be made to feel the rage of the people and this will best be served by ensuring their defeat at the polls.”

“The decision by IPOB to shutdown Biafraland on the election day has gone far and cannot be changed or stopped unless our terms are met,” IPOB’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful said in a Press Release on Tuesday.
