A 45-year-old father of six has lost his life in a most cruel manner after being hacked to death over obaship tussle.
The police has launched a manhunt for suspected killers of one Waidi Obidairo, who was murdered in Agodo village, in Ewekoro Local Government Council Area of Ogun State. The deceased, 45-year-old father of six, was allegedly hacked by his kinsmen on December 4, 2018 for a yet-to-be-established reason.

However, the quick response to a distress call by the Sango-Otta Area Commander, ACP Adegoke Fayoade, who raced to the scene, had a positive impact on the situation as the hoodlums were alleged to be on the verge of setting the captured

“fugitives ”, including the lifeless body of Waidi, ablaze, when he arrived with his men, which included the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ibogun.

Crimepuzzle’s investigation reveals that the deceased might have incurred the wrath of his kinsmen-turn assailants over his choice of pitching tent with the coronet-Oba, Olajide Odetola, whose coronation was billed to hold on December 7, 2018.

It was further revealed that the late Waidi had gone to the village in company of about nine other persons in preparation for the coronation when tens of the opposing factional group, armed with various lethal weapons, ambushed them, the resultant effect of which was hacking of their main target, Waidi, also known as Apase, ostensibly for his perceived role in seeing the dream come true.

The other nine persons had their respective bitter tastes of the hostility; they were brutally macheted, and sustained varying degrees of cuts.

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP’s) Monitoring Team, has, however, vowed to bring the perpetrators to book, despite the surreptitious moves of some notable and influential politicians to sweep the case under the carpet.

The intervention of the bereaved family solicitor, Chief Adekunle Funmilayo Esq., who in a petition to the IGP, called the attention of the police chief to the bestiality, and prayed for actions that would help to bring the assailants to justice.

The petition dated December 6, 2018 gave a number of suspects as architects of the gruesome murder.

According to the family lawyer: “On December 4, 2018, a gang of well-armed-to-teeth hoodlums, led by Ayo Fajobi, Gbeminiyi Sotade, Emmanuel Fajobi, Segun Daisi, Jomoye Adeyemo, Daisi Ajayi, Lateef Aileru, Adewuyi Adeosun, Ayolo Yobo and One James, attacked Waidi and others, who had gone to Agodo, his home town, to prepare for a family ceremony slated for December 7, 2018.

Others involved in the murderous act, according to the lawyer, were Ramoni Saidi, Wasiu Oluwaseun, Niyi Akinjiyan, Femi Sanyaolu, Semiu Sanni, Segun Akinjiyan, Seun Olugbenga, Nurudeen Balogun and one Matthew.

“They were massacred, and the lifeless body of the deceased was recovered by men of Sango-otta Area Command, ACP Adegoke Fayoade and DPO of Ibogun Division”, stated the lawyer.
