A former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs , Godsday Orubebe , has faulted the conduct of the 2015 elections and vowed that the 2019 elections would not be allowed to be rigged .
Orubebe , who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, had stirred up controversy during the collation of the 2015 presidential election results when he made allegations of bias against the then Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof Attahiru Jega , while attempting to disrupt proceedings .

The All Progressives Congress went on to win the election .

The former minister , in the November edition of TELL magazine , said the alleged rigging in Ekiti and other governorship elections would not be allowed to be repeated in the 2019 elections.

According to him , no one will pose an obstacle to the liberty of Nigerians to choose their President .

Orubebe said , “ Everybody knows what happened in Ekiti ; it was a stolen victory . And so it is in some other areas . We have been talking to our people to have patience . What has been happening in those elections can ’ t take place in February 2019 . It can ’ t happen. ”
