Manchester United vs Tottenham: Michael Owen predicts shocking scoreline

Former Liverpool and Real Madrid striker, Michael Owen has predicted that Tottenham Hotspurs will beat Manchester United by 2 goals to 1 in Monday’s Premier League fixture.

Owen expects Spurs to defeat United at Old Trafford, having won their last two home fixtures against the Jose Monurinho side.

United head to the game following a 3-2 loss to Brighton last weekend, while Spurs defeated Fulham 3-1 at home.

Speaking in an interview with BetVictor, Owen said: “Spurs have won their last two home league games against Manchester United.

“But the Red Devils have won their last six at Wembley – scoring at least twice in each of those games.

“Harry Kane has currently scored 99 Premier League goals and the great Alan Shearer scored his 100th Premier League goal against United. I expect to see a hugely entertaining game.

“Spurs have not been at their very best in picking up maximum points so far this term, but this will be a serious test of their title credentials. If there is to be a winner on Monday, I feel it will be Mauricio Pochettino’s side. Tottenham 2 and Manchester United 1.”

The kick-off time for the match is 8pm.
