Finally, Detained Premium Times Journalist Samuel Ogundipe Granted Bail, Released From Police Custody- A Kubwa Grade 1 Magistrate Court in Abuja on Friday granted bail to detained PremiumTimes’ reporter, Samuel Ogundipe.
Ogundipe was arrested by the Nigeria police for alleged stealing of classified documents.
After spending days in police custody, the reporter was secretly arraigned before the Magistrate Abdulwahab Mohammed on Wednesday.
Mohammed had first heard the case on Wednesday after Mr Ogundipe was secretly arraigned without being allowed legal representation.
However, Mohammed during Friday’s hearing granted the reporter bail in the sum of N500,000 and a surety who must be resident within the court’s jurisdiction.
Following the ruling, Ogundipe met his bail conditions and was consequently released.
