Ferguson scolded me for many stepovers – Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo has been caught on camera doing a stepover at Juventus training – after revealing Sir Alex Ferguson gave him the hairdryer over doing too many of them in his early Manchester United years , The Sun reports .The Portuguese superstar is arguably the brightest gem of them all polished by Ferguson , who ruled the roost at Old Trafford for 26 years .
After signing from Sporting Lisbon in 2003 and inheriting David Beckham ’ s No . 7 shirt at the age of 18 , Ronaldo was certainly a rough diamond .

But Ferguson polished him into a brilliant player , a Ballon d ’ Or winner and Champions League winner at United , as Ronny netted a sensational 42 goals in the 2007 – 08 season .

After winning three Champions League titles on the bounce at Real Madrid, the 33 -year – old decided to move on to Juventus this summer .

Ronaldo told DAZN , “ Of course in the beginning of my career he was so important to me because I moved from Sporting to Manchester and had that Portuguese mentality “ Too many stepovers , decision making was not the best .

“ He taught me how to do it .

In the Premier League, they don’ t fall over so easy , they are tough .

“ As I ’ ve said many times , he taught me everything . He was like a father to me . He helped me a lot at Manchester United . ”

Meanwhile , Ronaldo admits it is his “ dream ” for his son to one day fill his boots and become a professional footballer .

He has often used social media to show the progress of his first – born child both on the football pitch and in the gym .

Footage of the young Cristiano went viral in April this year when the eight -year – old showcased his skills on the Bernabeu pitch during halftime of a Real Madrid game last season .

A future is already being mapped out by his father , who completed a £ 105 m move to Juventus in the summer .
