Why Arsenal failed to sign Mbappe

Arsenal failed to land Kylian Mbappe when he was at Monaco because of agents’ fees.

Mbappe is currently the hottest teenager on the planet, as he continues to shine at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The 19-year-old forward, who has since moved to Paris Saint-Germain, single-handedly guided France into the quarter-final of the tournament, with a stunning performance against Argentina on Saturday.

Mbappe won a penalty and netted a brace, as Les Bleus won 4-3.

Prior to his £166million move to PSG, he was attracting a lot of attention from Europe’s elite.

Mbappe turned down Chelsea and Liverpool, but could have easily been an Arsenal player.

Former Gunners boss, Arsene Wenger, showed major interest when he was 17.

The UK Mirror quoted Spanish football expert, Guillem Balague, as saying that Mbappe’s family and agent asked for £7million to get the deal done.

Arsenal refused to take the risk and the deal broke down.
