Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has issued a warning to Juventus following their stunning acquisition of Cristiano Ronaldo. The 33-year-old swapped Real Madrid for Juventus, completing a £100 million transfer ahead of the 2018/19 season. A move which has sent shock waves through the sport.

Before sealing a deal to ply his trade in Italy’s top flight, Ronaldo was linked with a sensational return to Manchester United.

The Sporting Lisbon academy graduate joined United in 2003, and enjoyed six-trophy laden years at Old Trafford memorably winning the Champions League.

And the current United boss has continued to share his thoughts on Ronaldo leaving Real Madrid, while firing a warning to the reigning Serie A champions.

“Fantastic for Italian football: The Bianconeri will dominate for years and now it will be even easier with a player of His qualities,” he said.

“But, I think it can be extra motivation for rivals. Maybe this supremacy of Juventus can give AC Milan, AS Roma, Inter Milan and Napoli to boost in the title.”

Juventus bagged the Scudetto last season, four points clear of nearest rivals Napoli. While the club have lost a big player in Gianluigi Buffon, they now have Ronaldo to call upon.

League rivals AS Roma and Inter Milan have reinforced their sides snapping up Justin Kluivert and Radja Nainggolan, respectively, among others.
