The Leicester City star who disclosed that the team have put behind them Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Croatia in their opening game admitted that the team face a tough task against Iceland who stifled Argentina to earn a 1-1 draw in their opening game on Saturuday.

Ndidi, who was one of the nine players from the Super Eagles squad to have made their debut in the defeat, stated that the players are prepared to literally die on the pitch to get a win which will boost their chances of advancing to the round of 16.

“Even though we are players, we are also Nigerians. The loss is behind us, we die there in the next game,” Ndidi was quoted on the official Twitter handle of the Super Eagles.

The game against Iceland will be Nigeria’s 20th game at the FIFA World Cup since they made a 3-0 winning debut against Bulgaria at the 1994 World Cup in USA.
