President Buhari Finally Signs 2018 Budget (See Details)
President Muhammadu Buhari has on Wednesday signed the 2018 Appropriation Bill into law.According to Channels TV, the president signed the bill at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
He thanked lawmakers for passing bill, but added that he wished they had passed it sooner. He said:
When I submitted the 2018 Budget proposals to the National Assembly on 7th November 2017, I had hoped that the usual legislative review process would be quick, so as to move Nigeria towards a predictable January-December financial year.
The president had in November 2017 submitted a proposal of N8.612 trillion to the National Assembly, which was eventually passed in May 2018 with an additional N508 billion to make it N9.12 trillion.
