Lionel Messi used to play as Premier League side, Chelsea on FIFA, according to a new revelation by former Argentina star, Pablo Zabaleta who used to play against the Barcelona star on PlayStation.

While speaking in an exclusive interview with the BBC, former Argentina defender, Pablo Zabaleta, revealed that Barcelona superstar, Lionel Messi, plays as Chelsea on FIFA.

Messi’s former Argentina team-mate, Zabaleta who often play with him on the pitch and online through Playstation said: ‘I was better at PlayStation than Messi. He used to play with Chelsea a lot.

‘I used to live in Barcelona city and he was living 30 minutes outside. We were playing on the internet.’

The news will come as a shock to many, given how strongly Messi has expressed his dislike of The Blues in the past.

In 2006, he told the News of the World: “There are players here who hate Chelsea more than Real Madrid. I never thought I would hear myself say that.

“I also never thought I would see something worse than the Boca and River Plate rivalry or Brazil v Argentina – but this is.

“We would rather play Arsenal, Manchester United or anyone else than be on the pitch with Chelsea.”

Zabaleta is currently out in Russia acting as a pundit for the BBC’s coverage of the World Cup.
