How M.K.O Abiola’s Daughter, Wura Reacted To Buhari’s Posthumous GCFR Award On Her Late Father

Wura Abiola has reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari’s posthumous award of Grand Commander of the Federal Republic to the late M.K.O Abiola.

In a statement signed and made available to journalists on Wednesday night, President Muhammadu Buhari, directed that henceforth, the nation’s Democracy Day will be holding on June 12 of every year, as against the current arrangement where the ceremony holds on May 29.

The President also resolved to honour the winner of the annulled June 12, 1993 presidential election, Chief Moshood Kashimawo Abiola, with the highest national honour, Grand Commander of the Federal Republic (GCFR), 20 years after his death.

In a swift reaction, Abiola’s daughter, Wura took to her Twitter account to thank the president for the hounour as she extolled her late father.

Abiola’s daughter wrote; “Dearest Daddy, Bashorun Moshood Kashimawo Olawale #Abiola GCFR. Wonderful to finally be able to write this, 20 years on! Thank you President Buhari.
