Liverpool ace, Mohamed Salah has revealed what Chelsea legend, Didier Droga told him about breaking his Premier League goal record.

According to the Egyptian international, Drogba encouraged him to break his EPL record for the most goals scored by an African player.

Drogba, who played for Chelsea between 2004 and 2012, was the previous record holder on 29 goals but Salah scored 32 goals during last season’s league campaign to supass the Ivorian’s record.

“When I reached 20 goals, I spoke with Didier Drogba,” Salah told L’Equipe Magazine.

“He told me: ‘Please, break the record!’ to which I responded laughing: ‘No worries, I will!’’

“And I managed [it]. So I thought to myself, I have quite a few games to play before the end of the season, I can break the all-time record! It’s a great source of joy for me.”

Salah’s goal were enough to secure him multiple accolades last season as he also won the PFA, PWA and EPL Player of the Year awards.

The former Roma star is fighting to be fit for Egypt’s 2018 World Cup opener against Uruguay.

The forward left the pitch weeping after half an hour of the Champions League final in Kiev last month following a rough challenge from the Real Madrid skipper that injured his shoulder.
