Liverpool legend, Steven Gerrard has slammed the club for conceding two late goals against Roma in the Champions League semifinal first leg on Tuesday.
Liverpool went 5-0 up thanks to braces from Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino as well as a Sadio Mane goal.
But late goals from Edin Dzeko and Diego Perotti gave Roma two away goals which could be crucial ahead of the second leg next week.
And Gerrard said Liverpool should have killed the game at Anfield.
He told BT Sport, “Of course, 100 per cent (I would have taken 5-2 before the match).
“But in the game, when you go 5-0 up, you have to kill the game.
“It’s all about game management and being professional and keep your focus until the end.
“Liverpool came down in the gears towards the end and paid for it.
“They’ve given Roma a little glimmer of hope.”
