A lady identified as Caroline, who is also a member of the Catholic Biblical Movement of Nigeria (CBMN), was reportedly found dead along the Adikpo expressway in Benue State after she left home with her boyfriend, on Wednesday.Speculation of the Caroline’s death came, after her boyfriend came around to ask if she had returned home. However after the body of Caroline who was meant to sing Psalms on Palm Sunday at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Adikpo, was found on the road yesterday’s morning, her boyfriend was arrested.

2017’s Palm Sunday turned out bloody for Egypt’s Coptic Christians, as 21 members were bombed to death in a church in the Egyptian Nile Delta city of Tanta. About 50 people were reportedly injured in the attack.

The explosive device was planted under a seat at St. George (Mar Girgis) Coptic church, where it detonated in the main prayer hall. The attack came just one week before Coptic Easter and the same month as Pope Francis is scheduled to visit Egypt.

ISIS claimed responsibility for the attacks, which were aimed at a vulnerable religious minority on one of the most important days on the Christian calendar. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi declared three days of nationwide mourning following the bombings, and said a three-month state of emergency would come into force once legal and constitutional measures have been completed.

In response to the attacks, the country will also form a supreme council to counter terrorism and extremism, Sisi said on state television after an emergency meeting of the country’s National Defense Council.

“We have to pay attention because of Egypt and Egypt’s future. We know this is a big sacrifice but we are capable of facing it,” he said.

“The attack will not undermine the resolve and true will of the Egyptian people to counter the forces of evil, but will only harden their determination to move forward on their trajectory to realize security, stability and comprehensive development,” the President said in a statement.
