Divorce Rumours: Here’s A Timeline Of Tiwa Savage and Tee Billz’s Relationship

Four years after walking down the aisle in the exotic city of Dubai with her estranged husband and former manager, news of a possible divorce between Nigerian diva Tiwa Savage and her man Tunji Balogun popularly known as Tee Billz has hit the internet.

In memory of their alleged broken marital union, here’s a walk through the times and seasons of their love.

The Begining – 2010

In 2010, Tiwa Savage moved back to Nigeria with Tee Billz as her manager after the two had met in America a year before.

Tiwa Savage who is an alumnus of the prestigious Bekerly Music School in Boston started off as alternative and R&B singer before meeting Tunji Balogun at a Timaya concert in L.A through a mutual friend.

Tee Billz soon convinced Tiwa Savage to move back to Nigeria after she impressed him with a demo tape and ultimately rebranded her from a tomboy to a sexy diva.

Dating Rumours and PDA – 2012

Two years after the two kicked off operations in Nigeria, rumours of a possible love affair between Tiwa and Tee Billz began to make the rounds.

In September of the same year, the lovebirds validated the speculations after sharing a kiss at the Elite Model Look Nigeria finale.

Romantic Getaways, The Proposal, and Traditional Rights – 2013

In 2013, the two continued to fuel dating rumours as they shared photos from their romantic getaway in Dubai. In the second month of 2013, Tee Billz stepped things up by putting a ring on her finger.

It was a dual celebration as the proposal took place during the celebration of Tiwa’s 33rd birthday. At the close of 2013 (November), Tee Billz and Tiwa Savage had their traditional wedding ceremony in Lagos.

Destination Wedding, and Controversy – 2014

A year after Tee Billz proposed, the two tied the knot in Dubai with family members and a few friends (entertainers included) in attendance. Months after the exotic wedding, news started making rounds suggesting that there was chaos in their home, stemming from infidelity and extramarital affairs.

Months later, Tee Billz shutdown the rumours and insisted that there is peace in their home.

Arrival of the Baby – 2015

On the first of January 2015, Tiwa Savage revealed that there was a baby underway and six months later (July) the two welcomed their son – Jamil Balogun.

Social Media Drama, Suicide Attempt and The Tell-All – 2016

A year after welcoming their bundle of joy, Tee Billz went on the infamous Instagram blow-out that saw him accuse Tiwa Savage of infidelity. Tee Billz claimed that Tiwa Savage had been indulging in extramarital affairs with Don Jazzy, 2Baba, and Dr Sid.

Hours after the mental/emotional breakdown, Tee Billz was reported to have attempted suicide. Reports suggested that he almost jumped into a lagoon but was saved by the intervention of close friends; Banky-W and Rudeboy of P-Square.

Following Tee Billz’s Instagram outburst, Tiwa Savage offered a tell-all interview where she gave an unrestrained account of what has been happening in their marriage. Tiwa accused Tee Billz of cheating, financial recklessness, and drug abuse.

Tunji Took Responsibility – 2017

In the year that followed, Tee Billz took responsibility for the storm in his home and sort to find help. Through the support of Lagos-based life coach, Lanre Olusola, Billz gained mental balance and became an advocate of family morals.

The End? – 2018

Everything seemed to have settled but recent developments suggest otherwise. The two are finally ready to call it quits as they have reportedly begun a divorce process.
