As many Nigerians condemn the fact that President Muhammadu Buhari ignored the visit of some affected areas across the country, his aides have supported his decisions.

President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie, has defended her principal’s decision to attend the wedding ceremony of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s daughter, Hajiya Fatima and her groom, Idris Ajimobi, in Kano on Saturday

The presidential aide was responding to the many criticisms of the president on social media who blasted him for ignoring visits to Benue, Dapchi, Rann, Borno, Adamawa, Taraba.

Writing on her Twitter page, she made it clear that the president was an adult and has the freedom to decide where he goes.

“President @MBuhari is an adult. He decides where he goes. He decided it’s Kano today. And to Kano he went,” she wrote.

The event, which took place in Kano on Saturday, saw Buhari and 22 Governors in attendance.

Senate President, Bukola Saraki and the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were also present.

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has already criticized the president’s appearance at the wedding, stating that he should be more concerned about the tragedies unfolding in different parts of Nigeria, especially in the North.
