Gov. Willie Obiano Humiliated Us – Nollywood Actor, Yul Edochie Opens Up on Anambra Election

While speaking during the inauguration of the executive council of the National Association of Nigerian Students, Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, on Monday, described the outcome of the Anambra Gubernatorial election in which the incumbent governor, Willie Obiano dusted others in all the 21 local government areas of the state, as a humiliation to the other 36 candidates that contested the election.

 

According to a report by Vanguard, the Nollywood star and who was also a governorship candidate of Democratic Peoples’ Congress (DPC), in the November 18 poll in Anambra State, said he and other contestants were humiliated on the outcome of the results of the election.

 

He said: “Governor Willie Obiano really humiliated us. He dealt with all of us because I know that it is not easy for a candidate to win in all the 21 local government areas in a state like Anambra. So, we congratulate him and now that the election is over, what remains is for us to support him and his government.

 

“But I did not lose the election per se. I am fulfilled that we represented the voice of the youths in Anambra State. We won the election by getting to the end of the election without surrendering to anybody against all odds and pressure.

 

“I am calling on all of us to support the winner to ensure that the next four years will be better for the entire Anambra people.”

Describing Obiano’s victory as unprecedented, the Nollywood actor, however said he did not regret participating in the exercise. “I did not lose the election, I contested to give Nigerian youths a voice”.

The movie star charged the new leadership of NANS Zone B, comprising tertiary institutions in the South East and South-South zones, to eschew cultism and related vices.

 

The political adviser to Governor Obiano, Chinedu Obidigwe,who inaugurated the body urged them to ensure that every tertiary institution in the zone was carried along. ,
