But it was named on the Land Registry records as the highest priced house sale in Wales in 2017 – showing it was sold for £3.1m even though it was originally on the market for £4.5m.

His “bargain” purchase of the magnificen five-bedroomed mansion Fairoak Farm capped a year to remember for the Wale star after winning the FA Cup.

The Welsh long house overlooking the Bristol Channel in Cardiff’s Lisvane suburb boasts gardens with fountains, a three-hole golf course, tennis court and five-star hotel standard outdoor pool with hot tub and sauna.

But the crowning glory is a helicopter pa which means the 26-year-old is just an hour from Arsenal’s Colney training ground in London.
