According to a Metro UK report, a young mother found brutally stabbed to death in her flat in Bristol has been named as Asiyah Harris.

Asiyah, a 27-year-old with two young children, had suffered multiple stab wounds when officers found her body at her flat.

Friends have been left ‘broken’ after paramedics tragically failed to resuscitate her in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Officers cordoned off the block of flats in the St Paul’s area of the city, and were seen searching nearby grassy areas following the killing at around 12.30am.

Avon and Somerset Police said that a 27-year-old woman was arrested, but has been released under investigation. A 37-year-old man remains in custody for further questioning.

Shocked friends of Asiyah’s have left heartfelt tributes to the ‘beautiful’ and ‘loyal’ woman on her Facebook page.

‘It feels like a dream,’ Rayan Leiah wrote. ‘I’m speechless. Such a beautiful girl, a loyal friend, loving mother, wonderful daughter and sister. May Allah love you and let you enter the gardens of the highest paradise and may He make the questions in the grave easy for you beautiful Asiyah.’

Salah Hamoudie wrote: ‘I am saddened to hear the news of my beloved friend Asiyah Harris. Your life has ended, but your legacy of wisdom, integrity and courage will go on forever.’

Senior Investigating Officer Det Ch Insp Gary Haskins said: ‘We’re continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Asiyah’s death.

‘Our thoughts are very much with her family at this distressing time. They are being fully supported by a trained family liaison officer who will keep them updated on the progress of our investigation.’

Avon and Somerset Police have referred themselves to police watchdog the Independent Police Complaints Commission over the incident. The IPCC has not yet decided if the force will be investigated.
