Japanese Man Banned from Twitter After He Made A Death Threat Against A Mosquito

Lol. What is this one now? A man in Japan has been banned from using Twitter because he made a death threat against a mosquito.

It started on 20 August when @nemuismywife was repeatedly bitten by a mosquito as he was watching TV. He killed the mosquito then tweeted about it.

He wrote: “Where do you get off biting me all over while I’m just trying to relax and watch TV? Die! (Actually you’re already dead).” He added a picture of a dead insect to his tweet.

Abusive tweets sometimes get people banned from Twitter but it was unexpected when he received a message from Twitter saying his account had been frozen and cannot be reactivated. He set up a new Twitter account, @DaydreamMatcha, to criticise Twitter for banning him over a mosquito.

He tweeted: “My previous account was permanently frozen after I said I killed a mosquito. Is this a violation?”

Twitter’s decision to ban the user has attracted ridicule on social media. His tweet went viral with a lot of people calling out the social platform and asking them to reactivate his account.
