A dad whose face was almost completely destroyed in an acid attack when a thug knocked at the wrong door has called for tougher sentences as his assailant faces release after eight years.

Innocent Andreas Christopheros, 32, who was doused with sulphuric acid in December 2014, has joined a growing chorus demanding longer prison terms and a crackdown on the sale of corrosive substances.
