The mysterious fire that gutted the palace of Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu has reportedly destroyed the traditional regalia.
It has been revealed that the traditional regalia of the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, was reportedly destroyed in the fire that engulfed the palace on Tuesday afternoon.
Ibrahim Farinloye, the spokesperson of the National Emergency Management Authority, NEMA, while speaking said that the affected section of the palace where traditional regalia were kept was destroyed by fire.
He added that the mysterious fire was quickly nipped in the bud by the various emergency agencies on ground.
“The cause of the fire could not be ascertained immediately. But it has been put off by the combined efforts of federal fire service and state fire service,” he said.
It is still not yet known what could have started the fire but many people have related it to the
embarrassing incident, some days ago in which Akiolu had disgraced the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi at a public function.
Some said the gods are fighting on behalf of the Ooni because of the shame he suffered in the hands of the Oba.
