The Underachievers – Break The System Ft. Mello | DOWNLOAD MP3
Brooklyn’s own Issa Gold & AKTHESAVIOR, better known as The Underachievers just released their latest album, The Renaissance. The duo delayed the album originally slated for a February release to allow the hype to build around their release. Despite the delay the group dropped a number of songs off the album during the wait such as “Gotham Nights” and “Cobra Clutch.”
Now with the entire EP out there are plenty of hits to go around. “Break The System” is a song made for our current society; where the poor stay as such, and mass incarceration remains the solution to societal problems. The Underachievers attack our systematic failings, but also address the trappings of the inner city.
Mello’s vocals on the song add depth and soul to a track, that already features strong lyricism and storytelling.
