Trump To Enter White House Alone

Donald Trump, the U.S. President elect will likely move to the White House without the wife.

The wife will be staying in Trump Tower after taking over of office from President Obama.

Melania, 46, will remain in the penthouse apartment with Barron Trump, 10, until his school year ends in June.

Barron is choosing to stay in Manhattan so he can complete his term at Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School.

The future First Lady will travel to Washington DC when required and it’s believed Trump, 70, will endeavour to spend a lot of time in New York.

Trump Tower has amped up security since the election result was announced, with measures such as road closures and bag checks, so other residents may not be thrilled that Melania and Barron are staying put for the time being.

Melania’s decision to remain in NYC is said to be in the interests of her only son, who has another seven months to go until the academic year ends at the prestigious school, where tuition fees start at $44,120 (over £35,000).

In preparation for taking office, the US president-elect said he has ‘made a couple of deals’ after spending the weekend meeting a long list of candidates for government posts.

No appointments were confirmed, although Trump and the vice president-elect, Mike Pence, did drop some hints.

Pence said Mitt Romney is ‘under active and serious consideration’ to become the nation’s next secretary of state. Trump said retired Marine Corps General James Mattis was an ‘impressive’ prospect for defence secretary.

‘I think we have some really incredible people going to be working for the country,’ Trump said on Sunday. Adding: ‘We really had some incredible meetings. You’ll be hearing about them soon.’
