Senate Moves To Stop Jungle Justice In Nigeria (See Details)

​Following the killing of a boy in Lagos weeks back, the Nigerian Senate on Monday moved to pass the anti Jungle Justice Bill.

The Anti Jungle Justice Bill went in for 1st reading in the Senate on Tuesday 11th August, 2016 & 2nd reading Weds 5th October, 2016.

The Anti Jungle Justice Bill seeks to criminalize all forms of lynching, mob action and extrajudicial killing of anyone.

The bill aimed to to discourage the use of jungle justice by ensuring the wheel of proper justice is well oiled.

The bill which is sponsored by Senator Dino Melaye representating Kogi West Senatorial district will ensure that perpetrators of lynchings and mob actions are brought to book.

The extrajudicial killings has of late been on the increase.
