EFCC Grants Reuben Abati Freedom On Bail

Published

on

Dr. Reuben Abati, a former Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan has been released from EFCC custody.

Abati was granted bail to go and source for the N50million allocated to him by the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki (Dasukigate scandal) which was part of $2.1 billion allocated for purchase of arms for the fight against Boko Haram.

Abati had been granted bail by the commission but was unable to meet the conditions declaring that he had no money.

Abati, who has been in EFCC detention since turning himself in last week Monday, had previously promised to refund N5 million and was granted bail which he was yet to perfect and meet the conditions…

Abati however told the anti-graft body that he has no immediate means of sourcing the amount for which he is being detained.

He was released alongside former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro.
