Chancellor of the newly licensed private Coal City University, Emene, Enugu, Sir Chinedu Anih has said the school would pursue global standards in all its endeavours.

He vowed that the university would work assiduously to receive the substantive licence from the NUC.

“We will be ready by the time NUC comes back; getting the substantive licence will be our goal. We are prepared to meet all the requirements needed to make learning conducive for our students.

“Like you heard NUC Executive Secretary, Prof Abubakar Rasheed say, private universities hold the future of Nigeria. We are going to put in a better stead to be part of this great future”.

He commended the government for allowing private universities to operate

“Bringing in private individuals represents government’s desire to increase chances of admission for our children. It is to help create more admission opportunities for our people.”

On the high cost of private universities, Anih said, “It’s also one of the best in the country. I can tell you that we are also the cheapest in the country. You can make your enquiries anywhere, the school was not established as a profit-making institution”.
