Progression Of Android From Cupcake To Nougat (2009 – 2016)

We will be taking about the android version from the first (Cupcake)  to latest (Nougat) 

​1. Cupcake( Android 1.5).

The success story of Android begins with cupcake which was released in April 2009. As this is the very first version, it includes couple of functions like widgets of calendar, music player, image frame, etc.Video submitting on the YouTube, some integrated application like Gmail, Search box, etc.This variation is the turning point of the success of the Android

(i) Interface enhancements

(ii) performance enhancements

(iii) Added brand-new functions like cam, gallery, Bluetooth, contacts, Google applications, and so on.

2. Donut( Android 1.6).

The 2nd version of Android launched in 2009 as this is the next variation of Android Google included some new functions like boost the screen size, direct upload videos to YouTube, GPS navigation system, etc. Google added first-time text and text to speech feature in the donut system

(i)Included search box

(ii) battery usage indication

(iii)Google play updates( presently play store).

3. Eclair( Android 2.0,2.1).

Just after the success of the donut, Google instantly presents the eclairs in October 2009. The live wallpaper is the leading function introduced in this version.Account synchronization for each account, HTML5, enhanced Google map, more screen size, and resolution,and so on

(i)Contacts and Account( numerous accounts included)

(ii)Browse box in message

(iii)Email, Virtual keyboard, web browser, calendar updates.

4. Froyo( Android 2.2, 2.2.3).

This variation released in May 2010 just after the eclairs.Key features google presented in this release is WiFi connection and USB tethering.You can move your application to MicroSD card.Adobe flashes support in this system and enhancement in the video gaming graphics.

5. Gingerbread( Android 2.3, 2.3.7).

Is the most popular Android OS and most commonly used amongst the recent version.This variation launched in December 2010. In this release, the general efficiency of the system enhanced, and download manager concepts also presented, Secondary cam, Switching in between both camera, etc.The Android journey of mine started with gingerbread, and some phones are still operating on this android version.

(iv) Power management application enhanced.

6. Honeycomb( Android 3.0, 3.2.6).

This variation presented in the February 2011. Throughout this duration, Apple was introducing its tablets, so Google chose to add the os that works for tablets, so they included the honeycomb.This version set up on tablets.

(i) New UI for tablets

(ii)Keyboard enhanced

(iii)Text selection enhanced.

7.Ice-Cream Sandwich( Android 4.0, 4.0.4).

This Android variation launched for both tablets and mobile phones.Screenshot choice enhanced GUI, face unlocks, enhanced face opens and voice search, built-in picture editor, wifi direct, and so on. all new features presented in ice cream sandwich.

8. Jelly Bean( Android 4.1, 4.3.1).

This most current variation of Google, and primarily all uses this due to the fact that the next variation KitKat launched on some phones only. After the success of ICS Google released this version with some brand-new feature in GUI.They also redesigned the notification panel.

9. KitKat( Android 4.4).

This newest version of Android released first time in Google Nexus 5 presented in 2014. After Google Nexus, they presented it in LG Nexus 4,7,10. Now, Google is including it in all devices.In this newest version, they concentrate on the icon of the mobile they modified some icons like setting, message, and so on

10. Lollipop( Android 5.0,5.1).

This most current variation of Android launched in November 2014.

11. Marshmallow( Android 6.0).

The Android advancement continues with marshmallow which is already launched, the battery life extremely enhanced in marshmallow.When your gadget is at rest, then it will by itself get into sleep mode. For finger print security choice is also available in marshmallow.

12.Nougat (Android 7.0-7.1) 

Android 7.0-7.1 “Nougat” is the seventh major version of the Android operating system. First released as a beta build on March 9, 2016, it was officially released on August 22, 2016, with Nexus devices being the first to receive the update
