The Chief Ralph Uwazuruike-led Biafra Independence Movement/Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, BIM/MASSOB declared yesterday that the condition of Ndigbo in the country have gradually being elevated from second to third class citizens to the extent that they have now become endangered species and as such could be prevented from occupying any public office in Nigeria in future.

In a statement issued to newsmen in Onitsha, Anambra state, by Biafra Director of Information, Mazi Chris Mocha shortly after their monthly meeting at Ojukwu memorial Library (Auditorium), in new Owerri, Imo state, BIM/MASSOB expressed concern that Ndigbo are still being treated as inferior subjects and looked at with scornful eyes, adding that Igbo citizens have remained prime targets in every violence across the country with little or no intervention from federal government.

Mocha who described the condition Ndigbo are facing in Nigeria today as worrisome, further stated that Igbo citizens had even been relegated to the background in the unworkable contraption called Nigeria.

BIM/MASSOB specifically cited the gruesome murders of Ndigbo in recent times without any provocation in some Northern states by muslim extremists as examples, adding, “we have been massacred in the north, our women raped and abducted by armed Fulani herdsmen in our local communities”.
