Wayne Rooney Speaks on Man Utd Coach Jose Mourinho
Manchester United and England captain Wayne Rooney has given his thoughts on working with new coach Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho was appointed after Louis van Gaal left the club with the former sacked by Chelsea in December 2015.
Mourinho has signed a three-year deal with the Red Devils, with the option of a further 12 months.
Speaking ahead of England’s final Euro 2016 warm-up against Portugal, Rooney hailed Mourinho as one of the best coaches in world football.
He said: “He’s one of the best managers in the world. It’s exciting times.”
Meanwhile, Mourinho has promised not to focus on a rivalry with Pep Guardiola who has been confirmed as Manchester City boss.
Mourinho and Guardiola endured a bitter rivalry during their time in charge of Real Madrid and Barcelona, will resume their rivalry in Manchester this summer.
Reports have indicated that Mourinho is willing to sell Daley Blind and Juan Mata but he has also confired that he would not be chasing any player from Portugal hence sqaushing any rumours he was interested in Sporting Lisbon’s Joao Mario.
