Court Strikes Out Suit Challenging Authenticity Of Buhari’s WASC Certificate
A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Thursday struck out a suit challenging the veracity of President Muhammadu Buhari’s academic credentials.
Justice Adeniyi Ademola in his ruling said based on “Section 50(2) of the Federal High Court civil procedure rules, the matter is hereby struck out.”
The ruling followed an earlier motion filed by the originator of the suit, Nnamdi Nwokocha- Ahaaiwe, asking the court to discountenance the motion. Nwokocha-Ahaaiwe who is an Abuja based lawyer had on June 16, 2016 filed the suit before the Justice Adeniyi Ademola-led court saying Buhari was not qualified to run for President because he lacked the minimum qualification to run for the office.
He alleged that the President didn’t sit for the Cambridge WASC in 1961.
Nwokocha-Ahaaiwe’s motion for withdrawal reads in part, “Take note that the plaintiff in this originating summons, Nnamdi Nwokocha-Ahaaiwe, hereby discontinues this action.”
