Doctors at a private hospital in Alakuko area of Lagos State are currently battling to save the life of a five-year-old boy, who was allegedly raped by a 25-year-old man.
This is just as a robbery suspect was yesterday shot dead during a gun duel with a team of policemen in Ebute-Meta area of the state.
Report said the boy (names withheld) was playing with other children at Hanson Street when the suspect (names withheld) reportedly lured him with a packet of biscuit, took the boy into his apartment, where he allegedly sodomised him.
Eyewitnesses said the boy’s cry attracted curious neighbours, who noticed that his pants were stained. On closer observation it was discovered that blood was gushing out from his anus.
When asked what happened, the boy reportedly mentioned the suspect’s name, consequent upon which he was apprehended by the Police.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fatai Owoseni, who confirmed the incident, said the case had been transferred to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, Ikeja.
