Group Urges ESUT Mgt To Reduce Tuition Fee

A group,Youth Concerns Realization Initiative,YCRI, has threatened to drag the management of Enugu State University of Science and Technology,ESUT,to court over alleged N10,000 increment on tuition fees paid by students of the university.
This came as ESUT management,through the Director,Public Relations,Osita Ugwuoti dismissed claims of increment on tuition fee saying,”it has been a tradition of the university to levy N10,000 penalty on students who pay their tuition fees late”,adding that,”there was never a time management increased tuition fees.”
While addressing newsmen on the predicament of the students,Media Officer,YCRI,Blessing Luka revealed that the group was bent on ensuring the welfare of youths across every strata of the society even as she appealed to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State to recruit youths to man Youths/Sports portfolio inorder to give them a sense of belonging.
According to Luka,”the N10,000 increment is not accepted to us because we voted for affordable education. We have written to the Vice Chancellor of ESUT,Prof. Luke Anike telling him to take off the money which was added. If our request is not granted,we will not hesitate to seek redress in court”.
The group appealed to government at all tiers to formulate a policy framework that will be youth driven to enable them partake in governance and input on decisions affecting their well-being.
