#Biafra: Rev. Fr. Mbaka Speaks Again, Gives Condition To Support Agitation
Rev Father Ejike Mbaka, the catholic priest from Enugu, has given one condition, on which he would support the ongoing pro-Biafra protests.
Mbaka said that he would support Biafra agitation and demonstrations, if chieftains behind them come out to lead the struggle.
The Sun reports that the cleric stated this speaking during the launch of new products, Rapha Groundnut oil, Rapha Soya Oil and Rapha Carbon¬ated Drinks, produced by his company, Aqua Rapha Investments Limited.
According to Mbaka, the ongoing protests may snowball into a huge crisis of the scale associated with Boko Haram if not curtailed now.
In his speech, the cleric warned Nigerians that pro-Biafra protests are capable of scaring away investors from the region.
“If this nation collapses, it is on us all. If things go well, it is for our own good. I want you to know that if there is any of you here that is oppressed, we are being oppressed too. What I am begging is that things should be done in the right way. Because, if we continue like this, all the visions the governors of Igboland have, vision for employment and economic diversification, will be frustrated.
“No investor can come into a city filled with crises. So, wherever you are, saying, ‘let them (the protesters) move on’, the only way I can support it is when you join them. So, please, I am begging all of us, let us join hands and develop our place, Igboland,”he said.
Also speaking during the event, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi commended Mbaka for using his company to provide 4,500 jobs for the people of Enugu state.
Ugwuanyi atressed that the state government is interested in such business initiatives, which create jobs for the people and turn around the state’s economic fortunes.
A few days ago, during a sermon at his weekly Adoration Ministry, Mbaka strongly criticized Biafra supporters, defining them as ‘evil’.
The Man of God advised youths in the South East and South-South to go back to their business as the protest could lead to their death.
In a swift response, Uche Mefor, the deputy leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, fired back at the cleric, stressing that “Biafra is more than money!”
