20 Heavily Armed Robbers Storm First Bank Abaji, Carting Away Millions of Naira
On Wednesday August 19 – heavily armed robbers numbering about 20 – stormed a First Bank branch in Abaji – carting away millions of Naira after causing a few minutes of mayhem in the area and injuring several people who are now receiving treatment at Abaji General hospital, Abuja.
According to eyewitness reports, the robbery started a few minutes past 5pm and ended at about 6pm that evening.
The robbers who eyewitnesses described as ‘boys’ – shot sporadically into the air for over 30-minutes while the operation lasted.
Shockingly, the bank in Abaji is actually situated a stone throw from a police station.
But obviously, our severely ‘underpaid’ police officers dared not go near the robbery scene because the weapons the robbers came with were unrivaled.
The robbers reportedly made away with millions of Naira from the bank.
Although no life was reportedly lost, a young lady who works as a cleaner at the bank, was hit by stray bullet.
She was left to bleed on the floor until help came.
