AGAIN! Multiple Explosions Rock Biu Town, Many Feared Dead
Multiple explosions have been reportedly recorded in Biu, Borno State, just days after the last week’s suicide attack in the same town.
Leadership reports with reference to the witnesses that the today blasts occurred one after another and were heard echoing all over the town 3 times.
The explosion struck at about 12:50 p.m. on February 17, Tuesday, Premium Times adds.
Muhammed Miringa of Civilian JTF, said:
“Three bomb explosions have occurred in Yamarkumi area of Biu at about 1pm. There are many casualties. We are trying to see how to assist the aide workers to help victims that are still alive.”
February 12 the attack on Biu market is believed to have killed from 5 to 15 people.
Speaking about the incident the Federal Government insisted that the aim of the bombing was to divert the attention of the Nigerian military from the ongoing war against Boko Haram.
Two masterminds were allegedly arrested in connection with the incident.
