Keshi Yet To Report To Duty Since After His Reinstatement
Just two days before the departure of the Super Eagles to Congo for the all important return leg of the 2015 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) clash against Congo, Coach Stephen Keshi was yet to report to the team’s Bolton White Apartment in Abuja as at press time.
We can also recall that the Coach who only returned to the team about two weeks ago via a presidential directive was conspicuously absent from the team’s bench when the Super Eagles played against the Black Meteors of Ghana during the opening of the new Akwa Ibom International Stadium.
An official of the team who pleaded anonymity confided in our reporter that the former national team captain was yet to report to the team’s camp even as he added that they expected the coach to be with the team before their first training session this morning.
“Yes, the coach is yet to report to camp but there is nothing to worry because he is still in contact with the team and will be available when the team starts training this morning”.
Meanwhile five foreign based players have reported to the team’s camp by the time of filling this story.
Media officer of the team, Ben Alaiya confirmed to that Sammy Aluko, Hope Akpan, Godfrey Oboabona, Sunday Emmanuel and Aaron Samuel were the early birds. He however assured that the rest of the foreign based players were expected by last night.
Alaiya equally confirmed that all the invited home based players have reported to camp adding that they are all eager to confront the Congolese and pay them back in their own coin.
Are you sure Keshi isn’t expecting a contract as a coach from another team? Or is he ashame to show his face after been sacked? Either way we will find out today.
